About Doggie Paradise
With fabulous walks in every direction from the door, you and your four-legged friend will be spoilt for choice. Little used country lanes, canal towpaths, bridleways criss-crossing surrounding fields, spectacular RSPB woodlands, lakes and reservoirs, fantastic cycle trails, steam railway, along with a plethora of very dog-friendly pubs, tea rooms and shops, all nearby and waiting to welcome you. Within a five minutes’ drive, you are in the Peak District National Park, with its quaint, timeless villages and wondrous landscape. The Spa Town of Buxton is just a short drive, with famous Opera House, Gardens and Grade One listed Georgian Crescent, and Ashbourne, Gateway to the Derbyshire Dales.
Our nearest Market Town of Leek, just a 15 minutes’ drive, is renowned for being one of the most Dog Friendly shopping venues in the country. They pride themselves on it, and rightly so. Here, in our own village, we have a well-stocked Shop, open seven days a week, with Post Office and off licence, and exceptional, high-quality Village Butcher, a Member of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, both shops just a mile down the country lane, from the bottom of our drive.
Majestic, historic country houses, stately homes, National Trust and English Heritage properties abound round here, including Chatsworth House and Estate, Hardwick Hall and Haddon Hall, a mediaeval timepiece. Want to go sightseeing without your beloved four-legged friend? No problem! We will look after your dog for the day for you. With nine Labradors and a Cocker Spaniel of our own, we are well versed in entertaining dogs and keeping them happy. Your dog will have plenty of chums to enjoy supervised play with.
“Take a quiet walk with Mother Nature.
It will nurture your mind, body, and soul.”
Anthony Douglas Williams
